Texas Resources and Checklist

Official booking, fingerprint, and license links for Texas Life and Life & Health candidates. Always confirm details on the linked sites before you schedule or pay.

Book the exam (Pearson VUE)

Create a Pearson VUE account with your legal name as it appears on your ID, then schedule Texas Life or Life, Accident & Health at a test center. Confirm fees, locations, and cancellation rules on the official page.

Fingerprints / IdentoGO

Start on TDI's fingerprint / intent-to-apply portal first so you receive a service code. Then schedule electronic fingerprints with IdentoGO (IDEMIA). Keep your receipt for the license application.

Apply for license (TDI)

After you pass the exam and complete fingerprints, finish your producer application through the channels TDI lists for your license type (often NIPR/Sircon). Confirm current fees and steps on TDI agent pages.

Life vs Life & Health: which exam?

  • Life (Life Agent / Life-only path): focus if you only need life authority. Pearson VUE lists a Texas Life examination separate from the broader lines exam.
  • Life, Accident & Health (LAH / GLAH): broader exam if you need life plus accident and health / HMO-related authority under the general lines path Texas uses.
  • Choose based on the license authority you intend to apply for with TDI, not based on practice-site marketing. Confirm the exact exam name on Pearson VUE before you book.

Exam day checklist

  • Two forms of acceptable ID matching your Pearson VUE registration name (confirm current ID rules on Pearson VUE).
  • Arrive early; leave phones and study materials outside the secure area.
  • Soft timing guide (confirm on Pearson VUE / candidate handbook before exam day): Texas Life is often about 2 hours; Life, Accident & Health is often about 2.5 hours.
  • Know your appointment confirmation and test center address.
  • Plan a calm paced pass: flag hard items, return if time allows.

After you pass: job boards

GetLicensedTX is not a jobs product. These are ordinary public job boards you can search after you are licensed.

Texas doesn't require a prep course for the General Lines Life, Accident and Health license. Pass the Pearson VUE exam, get fingerprinted, and apply. Confirm scheduling, fingerprint, exam length, fees, and application rules on the official sites.
